Dear Emma. These are the words I wish had found you when everything felt so uncertain 📝

Friend, I know you’re scared.

You don’t want to be seen right now. Everything feels unfamiliar, but I promise you'll surrender to the messiness. You’ll learn to sit in the shadows for a while, without becoming them. Hidden in those reflective moments are parts of you to be discovered.

After all of this, you’ll meet a version of yourself you didn’t know existed: fluent in gratitude, fierce with love, radically kind, unapologetically joyful. Someone who trusts their yes and stands by their no. When you do come out from the aftermath of treatment and emerge into the light, you won’t believe what comes next (spoiler alert: oh it's good).

Keep going, she’s waiting for you on the other side.

I’m honoured to be appointed a Community Ambassador for From Me to You, a remarkable UK charity using the simple, powerful act of letter writing to ease the loneliness and isolation many face during cancer. They distribute thousands of handwritten letters each year that offer comfort and connection. You can learn more about the charity on their website www.frommetoyouletters.co.uk

Here’s what you should know:
💌 You don’t need to have experienced cancer to write and donate a letter
✏️ Worried about what to say? They offer gentle guidance to help you begin
⏳ Short on time? You can still help by donating towards stamps and letter-writing kits
🖇️ They are looking to partner with additional NHS trusts, hospices and cancer charities. If you work within these fields, the charity would love to hear from you

Think: cosy pub, drink in hand, new friends and the simple joy of putting pen to paper for someone who needs it. You don’t need the perfect words, just a little time and little bit of heart.
